Wine that values
the boots in the field

Every bottle of MocToe begins with a story—mine, yours, the crew’s, and the land we tend together.
This isn’t just a vineyard. It’s a way of life. A celebration of family, grit, craftsmanship, and the deep-rooted connection between people and place.
I don’t just make wine—I craft liquid stories born from the soil of Elephant Mountain. Each story shaped by two decades in the vines, farming over 25 varietals, earning scores from 94 to 99 points. The wines reflect the land—complex, soulful, and rooted in care.
MocToe is a promise:
That great wine is built from the ground up—through hard work, humility, and heart.
This is wine with soul.
From Andrew

The saga of MocToe begins with a pair of time-honored moc-toe boots—crafted in America for the steadfast: farmers, hunters, those grounded in purpose. They symbolize rugged resolve, an earthen bond, and the enduring American ethos.
I’ve worn many boots across life’s crucibles: warehouses stacked with vintages, brewery floors, distant deployments as a U.S. Army Operations Sergeant—and now, two decades among the vines. For 28 years, I’ve led men and women, from far-flung posts to vineyard rows.
When I returned from service, my conviction was forged: an unshakable bond to the land and a drive to build enduring value through viticulture. Merging the bounty of soil, the artistry of wine, and the depth of sustenance into a legacy—built brick by brick.
These boots carry stories—of fortitude, communion, and guardianship. And with every bottle of MocToe, that truth endures.
The Boots

To me, great wine is more than something to drink—it’s the start of a memory. A shared moment over a glass of wine becomes a story worth telling, something that connects people and leaves a lasting impression.
This belief drives everything I do at MocToe. From planting the first vine to delivering a bottle to your table, every step is intentional, infused with artistry and a deep respect for what mother nature gives us.
The wines I craft reflect the character of the land—beautiful, complex, and rooted in care. Each grape varietal has its own personality, brought to life through my decades of experience in viticulture.

The Offer

The Dirt
Where roots run deep, truth runs deeper.
It’s dry up here. Real dry.
Desert country — five inches of rain a year, if we’re lucky.
At 1,500 feet on Elephant Mountain, the vines fight to survive.
That fight makes them stronger — and it shows in the wine.
MocToe doesn’t come easy. That’s the point.
Planted in ’98, these own-rooted Cabernet vines dig straight into ancient volcanic soil — no grafts, no shortcuts.
What they pull up is pure, raw character.
That’s what you taste in every bottle of MocToe.
Unblended. Unforgiving. Built by the mountain.

Andrew

That question sits at the heart of everything we do.
It’s the people who show up — no matter the weather, no matter the hour.
I’ve spent twenty years in the dirt with this crew.
They’re not staff. They’re family.
Not by blood — by sweat and trust.
That bond doesn’t come from talk.
It comes from doing the work, season after season.
I care about these people.
We’ve shared meals, fixed broken gear, and carried each other through tough days.
This wine isn’t just from the vineyard — it’s from their hands.
Every bottle carries their pride and effort.
This is more than wine.
It’s a stand — for the work, the craft, and the people behind it.
And in our house, nobody gets left behind.
